Hopothesis Beer Company
Packaging and Collateral

After the initial product was launched, the client brought the product in house and requested updated art—I was on the team that helped update from the look of a chalk board to graph papers. With that change, the branding approach was born: to focus on "geeky fun".

Drafty Window, the second beer, was also done as part of a design team—the art director conceptualized and I helped with finalization and build out.

As I branched out into freelance design, the company owner employed me as the sole designer moving forward.

During our time working together, I designed the packaging and labels for three additional products that were released to the public: Fallin' Oats, Flying Buttress, and Odranoel (that's Leonardo backwards!).

We also created other event- and location-specific brews, as well as concepts that have not entered production yet. As lead designer for the additional beers, I worked directly with the owner to develop concepts, source and create art, and finalize all labels and packaging for production.

Other pieces developed were sell sheets for liquor stores and tasting committees. For each commercial beer, we developed an extensive sell sheet that presented the information about the brew while reinforcing the look and branding, keeping true to the spirit of "geeky fun".

"I bought the beer because I liked the design of it when I saw it on the shelf. I kept buying the beer because it was so good."

- Literal quote from a friend of mine after he found out I had worked on the label.
